Navajo Weaving Family Workshop

Dates: Sept 24, Oct 1, 8 & 15, 2022.
Time: 10 AM – 4 PM
Place: Heard Museum

The Heard Museum Master Artist Workshop series offers novice artists access to mentorship with a master-level artist. The in-person workshop will be instructed by Diné weaver Gerard Begay. The workshop will take place on four (4) consecutive Saturdays from 10 AM – 4 PM on the Heard Campus. Families of 2-5 members across 2 or more generations may register.

Meals will be provided (small breakfast and lunch). Class size is limited and open to all ages. Families must be able to attend all class sessions. Applicants will only be notified if selected. Native preference.

Youth Leather & Bead Workshop

Dates: August 27, September 3, 10 & 17.
Time: 10 AM – 4 PM
Location: Heard Museum

The Heard Museum Master Artist Workshop series offers youth artists access to mentorship with a master-level artist. Moontee Sinquah is a Pueblo Hoop dancer. For 4 Saturday’s, students will learn how to bead onto leather. In addition, students will learn about Pueblo culture and history.

Meals will be provided (small breakfast and lunch). Class size is limited and open to ages 25 and under. Students must be able to attend all class sessions. Applicants will only be notified if selected. Native preference.

Creative Aging Workshop: Printmaking

In-person dates: July 6, 16, 23, 30 @ 2 PM – 4 PM
Virtual dates: July 9, 13, 20, 27 @ 3 PM – 5 PM.
Place: Heard Museum Campus

The Heard Museum Creative Aging program offers access to 55+ students to engage in an enriching artistic experience. The in-person and on-line workshop will be instructed by Mechoopda – Maidu artist, Jacob Meders. There will be four (4) in-person sessions with four (4) online sessions for a total of eight (8) sessions. July’s Creative Aging workshop features printmaker, Jacob Meders. With expert guidance students will sketch designs, carve linoleum & print designs.
Class size is limited & open to ages 55+ yrs. Students must be able to attend all class sessions. Must have access to Zoom and a Gmail account for Google Classroom. Applicants will only be notified if selected.
