Song & Drum Workshop

Dates: January 4th – 6th, 2023
Time: 10 AM – 2 PM
Location: Mission Garden, Tucson AZ

The Heard Museum Master Artist Workshop series offers novice artists access to mentorship with a master-level artist. The in-person workshop will be instructed by reigning Adult Hoop Dance Champion, Sampson Sixkiller-Sinquah. In this workshop participants will construct a hand drum and drum stick. The history of drums and the songs associated harvesting storytelling will be taught. Apply here!

Meals will be provided (small breakfast and lunch). Class size is limited. Students must be able to attend all class sessions. Applicants will only be notified if selected. Native youth preference.

Flute-Carving Workshop

Dates: December 17-19, 2022
Time: 10 AM – 4 PM
Location: 777 West Southern Ave. Mesa, AZ 85210

The Heard Museum Master Artist Workshop series offers novice artists access to mentorship with a master-level artist. The in-person workshop will be instructed by Diné & Ute artist, Aaron White. The workshop will take place over a total of 3 days from 10 AM – 4 PM at Native Health – Mesa. Application here!

Meals will be provided (small breakfast and lunch). Class size is limited and open to ages 15 to 25. Students must be able to attend all class sessions. Applicants will only be notified if selected. Native youth preference.
